Event details
Program Overview: This webinar offers practical resources and activities to help educators implement two key science practices — scientific modeling and argumentation — that are essential for student success on the NYSSLS science assessments. Participants will learn how to effectively teach and support these skills in the classroom while gaining insight into student thinking through their engagement with these practices.
Program Description: Based on The Instructional Leader’s Guide to Implementing K-8 Science Practices, this webinar includes classroom videos, student work analysis, and hands-on opportunities to explore modeling and argumentation. Participants will apply instructional tools and strategies, discuss implementation in their own contexts, and practice these techniques in their classrooms.
Target Audience: This two-session webinar is designed for teachers, instructional leaders, and principals. It provides a deep dive into how these practices can be effectively implemented in the classroom and how leaders can support teachers in fostering modeling and argumentation skills.
